Why is Narmadeshwar Shivling considered higher/more sacred than other Shivlings?
In Hindu tradition and scriptures like the Shiva Purana, the Narmada River is blessed with the boon that every pebble (kankar) in its bed is a manifestation of Lord Shiva (Kankar Tane Shankar). Narmada Shivling are considered Swayambhu (self-manifested) and hold high cosmic energy.
